Djilpin Arts

Ghunmarn Culture Centre employs young women, Revonna Urban, Augustina Kennedy and others, as arts workers. It also supports a café and beauty products enterprise (making soap, lip balm and candles out of natural bush medicines and plants) as a youth-oriented income-generation project.
Introductory:
Djilpin Arts is an Aboriginal community owned arts organisation at Beswick (Wugularr) community 107 kms from Katherine. Djilpin Arts produces the annual Walking with Spirits Festival, and operates an arts retail business Ghunmarn Culture Centre, and a youth and media project. Djilpin Arts emphasises both youth learning and enterprise development as priority areas. They have supported a non-formal digital learning project for young people and now employ young camera men Amos Urban and Ricardo Weston to document community arts and cultural activities.
