Seventeen Indigenous women rangers from four CAEPR partner organisations and guest rangers from the Ngaanyatjarra Lands (WA) attended a Women Rangers Workshop held from 23-27 April 2012 at The Australian National University, Canberra. Run by CAEPR’s People on Country (PoC) project staff, the workshop brought women rangers together to develop written and film resources about women ranger work for other women rangers, funding bodies, government agencies and interested others.

The purpose of this workshop was to collaboratively finalise a women ranger’s book and produce an accompanying DVD using  workshop materials and photos and film of women rangers at work.

There are currently very few resources that demonstrate what women rangers are doing, the challenges they face and ways they can envisage overcoming challenges. As far as we know, this is the first women ranger’s resource kit produced in Australia.
