Research students scholarships

The Australian National University awards a range of scholarships, including Australian Postgraduate Awards and ANU PhD Scholarships. A small number of scholarships for mid-year entry are also available. Applicants for a research degree scholarship must hold a degree of Bachelor with at least upper second class honours (although competition is such that applicants usually have to hold a first class honours degree to be competitive), or a degree of Master from a recognised University. For more information see Research Students Scholarships.

Indigenous Australian scholarships

The Graduate Research School normally offers one scholarship each year to an Indigenous Australian to undertake graduate study by research or coursework. This is one of the few scholarships available to coursework students. For more information see Indigenous Australian Graduate Scholarships.

Other scholarship opportunities at CAEPR

CAEPR is also involved in applying for funding to support research projects through the Australian Research Council. In some circumstances, support is requested for an Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) to support research students working on the project. If you are interested in investigating available opportunities under this option please contact our Executive Officer on (02) 6125 2053.

Summer research scholarships

Summer Research Scholarships provide the opportunity for current undergraduate and honours students to gain insight into what higher degree research at CAEPR is all about. Summer Research Scholars undertake a short research project for a period of 8-11weeks at the ANU, whilst receiving Full Board at an affiliated university college, $135 weekly allowance tax exempt (2008/2009 rate) and return travel to Canberra. For more information, including the relevant closing dates, see Summer Research Scholarships.

For more information on the range of scholarships available at ANU see Student Administration Services: Scholarships.
