When the bushfire royal commission handed down their report, it recognised the necessity to improve the use of Indigenous land and fire management practices into every community's protection for resilience and survival.

In NAIDOC Week 2020, this stands as one of the most significant advancements in acknowledging First Nations' fire expertise, but there is a lot of work to be done.
